Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

What is the NDIS and who is eligible?
icon

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provides funding and support to people with a permanent and significant disability to help them live more independently and achieve their goals. To access the NDIS, you must be under 65, live in Australia, and have a disability that significantly impacts your everyday life.

What supports can the NDIS fund?
icon

Supports may include therapies, personal care, community access, equipment, home modifications, assistive technology, high intensity care, and support coordination to help you manage your plan.

How do service agreements and consent work?
icon

A service agreement outlines what supports you’ll receive, costs, and responsibilities. Consent means giving permission for us to collect or share information, and you can withdraw it at any time.

How is my information stored?
icon

Your information is stored securely under Australian privacy laws, with access limited to authorised staff.

What happens if there’s a concern or conflict of interest?
icon

We handle conflicts transparently and always put your best interests first. If you have a concern or complaint, you can raise it with us directly by email or phone, or contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 days and resolve most within 7.

Do you support both children and adults?
icon

Yes, we work with children, teenagers, and adults of all support levels.

Do you have a waitlist?
icon

Our availability changes daily based on participant needs and staffing. We are actively recruiting to expand capacity and keep wait times low. You can reach out to check current availability or email feedback@abilityindisability.com.au if you'd like support navigating your options.

What is a support coordinator and do I need one?
icon

A support coordinator helps you understand your NDIS plan, connect with the right services, and build your capacity to manage supports. If your plan includes this funding, it can be a valuable way to make the most of your NDIS journey.

Can I choose my own providers?
icon

Yes, the NDIS gives you full choice and control. You can choose providers that best meet your needs and preferences.
